This local island hotspot is known for it’s lazy river & weekend traffic. There is a deep channel that surrounds the exposed beach that has a swift current. Visitors will bring inflatable rafts and floatation devises alike to float down the coast line of Boca Grande. Keep in mind, Boca Grande is a popular weekend destination for charters out of Key West, so if you are looking for a secluded sandbar experience you might want to try alternative destinations such as Mud Keys. If you are looking for a social outing, the beach at Boca Grande is the perfect destination for your trip to the Florida Keys.

Boca Grande is located about 11 miles west of Key West, Florida. There are two options on how to get there. We highly recommend downloading a GPS app such as Navionics. The recommended route is outlined on the map that leads you southwest of the island. If you decide to go north around the shallow islands, make sure you play the tides correct or hire an experienced captain.
